Walkie Talkie

So part of this new me is saying yes. I talk a good game, but I'm not a joiner. In theory, I like your cause, party, hobby, etc. But in practice, I want to sit on the couch with my husband and watch Lost. Well, Lost is over (and Heros and Law & Order) so I guess I am out of excuses.

I'm just talking about activism. I have done that. Get me angry enough and I will march down to city hall in a flash. I'm talking about being social. I have a very social job and active friends, but I rarely step out of my comfort zone. I enjoy it when I do, yet I am lazy as hell.

Tomorrow, we walk. For Arthritis. I am actually excited. Even though this combines all of my least favorite things: outdoors, nature, moving, heat, crowds and early mornings. I made it easier by raising money to do it. (Or did I just make it harder to back out?) Either way, I will be there bright and early and I will plow through. Or die trying, which is equally likely.

So.....

I've had blogs before. Always with lofty goals. Making people laugh or feeding them or mocking them. That's a lot of pressure.

This blog will be a bit more freeform. Follow it or don't. This time it's for me. This time...it's personal.
